Antofagasta Plc. The Group's principal activities are exploring and developing copper mining, transporting freight by rail and road, and distributing water. The Group's operations are carried out through its Mining, Railway and Other Transport Services, and Water Concession divisions. The Mining operation owns and o perates three copper mines, Los Pelambres, El Tesoro and Michilla. The Railway and Other Transport Services transports copper cathodes down from the mines for export, and sulphuric acid up to the mines from the terminals at Mejillones and from the copper smelters in the region. The Water Concession operates a concession for the distribution of water in the Antofagasta region. The Group operates in the United Kingdom, Chile, Peru and Bolivia.
