Yamana Gold Incorporated. The Group's principal activity is that of a gold producer with significant gold production, gold development stage properties, exploration properties and land positions in North, Central and South America. It produces gold and other precious metals at the intermediate company production level, in addition to significant copper production. The Group plans to continue to build on this base through existing operating mine expansions and throughput increases, the advancement of its exploration properties and by targeting other gold consolidation opportunities in Brazil, Argentina and elsewhere in the Americas. The Group acquired Meridian and Northern Orion in 2007.
